Noëlle Grace Portland
Noëlle is the founder and principal teacher at Amara's Ark. Her passion for education is as evident as her love and understanding of children and this is apparent through her three-year old daughter, Amara, who not only reflects her mother's love and abounds with energy and imagination, but astounds everyone with her incredible vocabulary. Noëlle has done her post-grad studies in early childhood and elementary education and draws inspiration from leaders in child advocacy such as Alfie Kohn, Mahatma Gandhil, Maria Montessori and Marshall Rosenberg. She believes that the first years of a child’s life are by far the most important, helping to lay the foundation for all intellectual and emotional development to follow. Through nurturing and individualized attention, Noëlle takes great care to provide a warm, friendly, and fun environment for all children at Amara's Ark, while ensuring they receive the guidance and structure they need. She strives to nurture every child's ideas and imagination, acknowledges each child’s individuality, and validates each personality. She has succeeded in her goal to provide a place where children know that they are accepted, loved, protected, and wanted; helping to instill in each child a strong sense of self-worth and purpose. Through Amara's Ark, Noëlle provides children with the perfect combination of learning and fun!
